What you will find here

Articles are organized into eight topic hubs: mind and behavior, emotions and relationships, history and origins, culture and society, science and the body, creativity and achievement, technology and the future, and meaning and everyday life. Around them sit a timeline of human history, profiles of achievements, a glossary, short facts, verified quotations, and learning paths.

How we write

We start with stories and concrete examples, then explain what research supports. We try to say when a finding comes from one study, a small sample, or a narrow group of participants, and when scholars disagree. In history, we separate the earliest surviving evidence from the first time something happened, because the two are rarely the same thing.
